Wasim Akram Quits from Kolkata Knight Riders as Bowling Coach Role


Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram leaves as a bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was confirmed on Monday for this Indian Premier League (IPL) 6 seasons.

Wasim Akram has been an important player of the team for the past three seasons of IPL and also been a part of the core team along with chief coach Trevor Bayliss and Captain Gautam Gambhir that helped a lot for the champions of last season.

Accroding to KKR team managemet, Wasim want to spend more time with his family as his two sons Taimur and Akbar are barely in their teens.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) CEO Venky Mysore is said that "Wasim Akram will be badly missed. He is a legend and a great motivator to have around the team. However, we fully appreciate the reason why he will be unavailable. We hope to work with him in future."

Meanwhile, Indian team’s fielding Coach Trevor Penney as a elected as a bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders for this IPL 2013.

One more change for KKR management, Joy Bhattacharjya worked as a team director for last five season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will now be appointed as an advisor (content development and management).
