Virat Kohli Selected as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Captain in IPL 2013


One of the young and energetic Indian players all rounder Virat Kohli has been selected as 2013 IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Captain would replace the Daniel Vettori in the position.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) consider they had a helpful 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) 6 auction in which they alert on strengthening their bowling unit and as well as  including capable all-rounders to increase their flexibility in the selection of the eleven players of IPL 6 season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) owner Dr Vijay Mallya said, "We are delighted to announce Virat as our captain. His hunger to learn, lead, motivate and set an example is unquestionable." Kohli is the 11th highest run scorer in IPL history with an aggregate of 1639 runs, Average of 28.25, highest score 73* and a strike rate of 119.28. He has scored 8 fifties and blasted 154 fours and 49 sixes. He is also the 3rd highest run getter in T20 Cricket League history.

A delighted Kohli said, 'Glad to be appointed Captain of RCB. It's a great feeling. Being drafted as a u-19 in 2008 and now to be considered to lead a side of great players is a big honour. I thank the owners for reposing their faith and I am looking forward to the challenge and the responsibility to carry the team to greater heights.'
