Sachin Tendulkar has stepped down as captain of the Mumbai Indians team:(.The aging veteran i'm sure still has many good knocks to bat.But its well known that as captain Sachin has always struggled.He does best when he is only focussing on his game.
In any case Sachin and Kumble would always be available to mentor the team and ,would naturally have their say in all team decisions.
The decision has been taken voluntarily by Sachin and Kumble after due consultation. Kumble was quoted as saying that Sachin would prefer to focus on just batting at this stage of his career when fitness itself is a challenge.
Ricky ponting the new captain was overjoyed and thanked Mr.Ambani for the great honour.
The decision is not only timed well but also executed gracefully .With due respect to the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
