Mumbai Indians Choose John Wright as a head Coach in IPL 2013


Former Indian coach John Wright was selected as a head coach of Mumbai Indians squad forward of Indian Premier League season six(IPL 6) which starts on April 3,2013

John Wright, previously New Zealand opening batsman, had successful period as coach of the Indian squad from 2000-2005 and lead his home country from December 2010 to July 2012.

Mumbai Indians said that "During his time in India, John was instrumental in India's rise up in the international table including finishing finalist in the 2003 World Cup. In the relatively brief period he had been in charge of the Black Caps, the Kiwis improved upon its performance reaching the semi-finals of the last World Cup”.

Robin Singh said, who was the coach of the side last IPL season, will continue to be associated with the team

"Robin Singh will continue to lend his services to Mumbai Indians," the release said.

Mumbai Indians (MI) owner Nita Ambani said, "It's a great pleasure to have John on board with Mumbai Indians. John is immensely respected and I am sure his cricketing knowledge and experience will be of enormous help."
